There are still quite a few quilts that haven’t made it up on the blog yet and this Stars and Stripes quilt is one of them.
Stars and Stripes pattern is by Thimbleblossoms.
This was such a fun quilt to sew up. Every once in a while I crave mindless sewing and a Thimblebossoms pattern. This scrappy friendly quilt is a quick sew.
I actually struggled to find enough red in my stash for this flag quilt but I managed to make it work. There might be some extra piecing in there to make the red pieces big enough.
The background is an out of print Bonnie and Camille gingham from their Vintage Picnic fabric line. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen quite a few Stars and Stripes with this background. It certainly wasn’t my original idea 🙂
Stars and Stripes is a nice little throw size so I quilted it up on a Janome MC6700p using my favorite wavy stitch. It looks like these lines are spaced one inch apart.
The backing is an older Bonnie and Camille floral print. This makes for the perfect summer quilt. With the 4th of July coming up, it seems like a good time to finally share it here on the blog.
