Happy New Year! ✨ I try to take some time off from Quilty Love every December to recharge and rest. It was a good one! It went way too fast but was so enjoyable as I spent time sewing just for fun, doing puzzles, coloring, baking, hand quilting, eating too much and trying to sneak in walks. We are still on break this week but it’s back in the studio starting Monday. 😅

Happy Monday! I started and finished up this blue string quilt over the past two weeks. I’m trying to sew just for fun stuff in December and it’s going way too fast. 😭

Here’s the details:
🔘Blocks are 6.5 inch (6 inch finished)
🔘Strips are all random except the linen center strip. That is a 1.25” strip.
🔘10x12 layout = 120 blocks
🔘60” x 72”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I used blues mostly in the navy family. I decided for the last batch of blocks to make them all lighter. I like the added interest they add to the quilt.

Did you see the new @konacotton Color of the Year?! The new COTY is this rich deep purple called Nocturne. I used it in my Expanding Stars quilt and paired it with Lupine and Wasabi.

This is the only video I took of this #konacoty before sending it off to @robertkaufman. I paired this deep purple with Lupine and Wasabi and made it pop on an ivory background.
