Hand quilted Fableism Arcade Plaid Wovens Triangle Pop quilt
Today I’m sharing this hand quilted Arcade Plaid Wovens Triangle Pop quilt! I can’t believe I haven’t blogged it yet since it’s been done for 6 months. This Triangle Pop quilt was such a fun one to make using Fableism Arcade Plaid Wovens with a little hand quilting. (well… a lot of hand quilting.) It was a really enjoyable hand quilting project with these soft wovens.
The Triangle Pop quilt pattern is available in the Quilty Love pattern shop.
Triangle Pop quilt pattern
The Triangle Pop quilt pattern came out quite a few years ago but it’s still a fun one for me to sew up. It goes together easily with a triangle in a square block. No templates are needed for this pattern except maybe a flat tipped triangle ruler. I have you cutting the square part of the triangle in a square unit using a regular quilting ruler.
I love that this pattern is stash friendly. You can use fat quarters or you can use a variety of 6 inch strips from your stash. For this plaid version I used left over fabrics I had on hand after a few other projects.
The Triangle Pop quilt pattern includes the following sizes:
- Baby size – 40″ x 48″
- Large Throw size – 68″ x 74″ (shown here)
- Twin bed size – 68″ x 90″
- Queen bed size – 94″ x 114″
Fableism Arcade Plaid Wovens
The Fableims plaids are so gorgeous. I’ve used them a few times now. This one might be my favorite though as each triangle really stands out.
Whenever I work with Fableism Wovens I pre-wash them to pre-shrink them. I also like to use a smaller stitch length since the looser weave is more prone to fraying and shrinking.
I paired these Arcade Plaid wovens with the Everyday Chambray for a soft and drapey quilt.
Big Stitch hand quilting
I couldn’t resist hand quilting this soft and drapey Fableism Wovens quilt. I used size 8 thread in cream and spaced the lines 3/4 inch apart. I added a couple lines of soft green throughout the quilt.
I don’t think this quilt took me very long. Those lines went fast and I quilted it over the end of the winter months. I’m guessing it took 4-6 weeks.
I added side borders to this throw size quilt and eliminated a column of triangles to do that. I added side borders so I could square up the quilt if I needed after hand quilting. I like to quilt the borders separately for some added interest.
