Free Simple Plus Quilt Pattern – PDF download

Today I’m sharing a free Simple Plus Quilt pattern. This is a free PDF download when you sign up for the Quilty Love newsletter. This free simple plus quilt is a quick and easy quilt to sew up and a great beginner friendly quilt.

This is a quilt I sewed up early on in my quilting adventures so I finally wrote it up into a quilt pattern that you can download. It’s a fast and modern plus quilt.

Choose a background fabric + a plus fabric and start sewing!

Modern Plus Quilt

This plus quilt is nice and simple and very modern in design. This simple plus quilt is a two fabric design. Choose one yard for the plus signs and 3 5/8 yards for the background. I’ve sewn my simple plus quilts up using essex linen plus signs and a white background.

I did a few mock ups recently using Ruby Star Society Plus basics. The blue is Add it up in Chambray and the cream is Add it up in Natural.

I love the dark blue background. The backing on these mocks ups is a Riley Blake wide back.

Large throw size plus quilt

This free simple plus quilt pattern is a nice and large throw size. It finishes at 63″ x 84″. It’s big enough to almost use a twin size bed quilt or a nice and large throw quilt.

Straight Line machine quilting

I quilted up this free simple plus quilt myself on my sewing machine. I did simple straight lines using a walking foot. My lines are spaced 3/4 inch apart. I like to first quilt 1-1/2″ spaced lines and then go back and fill in the 3/4 inch lines.

Ruby Star Society Wide Back

The backing on this free simple plus quilt is a Ruby Star Society Wide back fabric in Camellia.
