Hand quilted Fableism Camp Gingham Stained Glass Windows Quilt

Today I’m sharing this hand quilted Fableism Camp Gingham Stained Glass Windows quilt. That’s a long one! haha. I sewed up this Stained Glass Windows quilt about 4 months ago and then took about 6 weeks or so to hand quilt it.

Lately I like having a hand quilting project going at all times and this was the last one I completed. It’s hand quilted in a baptist fans design. I’m a big fan of hand quilting the Fableism wovens so this was an enjoyable one.

The Stained Glass Windows quilt pattern is available in the Quilty Love pattern shop.

Fableism Camp Gingham Stained Glass Windows Quilt

Stained Glass Windows is an older Quilty Love quilt pattern that I hadn’t made in a long time. I sewed one up a few months ago using these beautiful Camp Gingham fabrics by Fableism. If you have been following along for a while then you know I’m kind of obsessed with the Fableism Wovens.

I have a hard time resisting hand quilting my Fableism quilts because they are so soft and easy to glide a needle through.

This stack of Camp Gingham fabrics was cut up for a previous project that I changed my mind on and the cut pieces ended up working out well for this Stained Glass Windows quilt!

The original plan was to use both the small scale gingham and the large scale gingham but one block into the large scale and it wasn’t working. So my throw size quilt turned into a nice little lap size.

The accent fabric is Sprout Wovens in Sugar. The background is a fave of mine – Fableism Everyday Chambray in Ether.

The Stained Glass Windows quilt pattern came out a few years ago. It’s a fat quarter friendly quilt that also has an accent and background fabric.

The Stained Glass Windows quilt pattern includes 3 size options:

Baptist Fans hand quilting

I started hand quilting within the past year or so. I’ve only ever quilted straight lines so this small quilt was a good opportunity to try something new like Baptist Fans.

I have always loved the traditional baptist fans quilting design so I was excited to try it out. I used this stencil and this blue quilting pen to mark the design.

I have to say I wasn’t a huge fan of quilting curves…lol. I don’t hand quilt in the proper traditional way and can only hand quilt in one direction so it was a lot of turning the quilt. I do love the end results though so I guess it was worth it. I’m just glad I tried it on a tiny quilt like this one.

Here’s a link to all of the hand quilting supplies used in this Fableism Stained Glass Windows quilt.

I pre-washed these Fableism linen fabrics before sewing with them since they do shrink quite a bit. I threw straight in the wash after it was done to erase any blue pen that was left so these photos below are post wash (post crinkle).
