Classic Stars Quilt Pattern
Today I’m sharing a brand new Quilty Love pattern called Classic Stars. Classic Stars is just that… a simple classic star quilt. This quilt pattern is a play off of the popular Star Pop quilt patterns. This time, it’s big bold classic star blocks.
Classic Stars is fat quarter friendly and really highlights the fabrics. It includes two options for the blocks. Simple bold square blocks or rounded out blocks for a little more dimension.
The Classic Stars quilt pattern is quick and easy and is now in the Quilty Love pattern shop.
I’ve sewn up three samples of the Classic Stars quilt pattern. Two in solids and one in my Cozy Season flannel bundle. This one looks great in prints too! Scroll on down to the bottom of this post for mock ups in lots of different options.
Classic Stars Quilt Pattern
Classic Stars is a big and bold star block quilt pattern. It really highlights the fabrics since each block finishes pretty large at 15 inch square. The quilt pattern includes the following quilt sizes:
- Baby size 45″x52″
- Throw size 60″ x 67″
- Large throw size 75″ x 82″
- Twin bed size 75″ x 97″
- Queen bed size 90″ x 97″
Quick and easy star quilt pattern
Classic Stars is a variation off of the popular Star Pop patterns. Someone had made up Star Pop II where each quadrant was the same fabric and I really liked how it looked. So I eliminated some extra seams and simplified the construction for this new Classic Stars pattern.
This is a good beginner friendly quilt pattern.
Cozy Season Classic Stars quilt
The first quilt to show you is the Cozy Season one! My Cozy Season bundle came out with Robert Kaufman a little while back and I still love sewing with it. It’s a mix of their flannel plaids and makes for such a cozy quilt. I tend to gravitate towards the Cozy Season bundle in the colder winter months. It makes for such a fun winter quilt.
I made the throw size Classic Stars quilt so I had to add a few flannel fat quarters to the bundle. The stars and rounded edges are a Robert Kaufman flannel in navy. The backing is Framework flannel.
Long Arm Quilting
I sent this Cozy Season Classic Stars quilt off to Modern Textiles for quilting. We chose this Abacus pantograph. It’s one of my favorites.
Blue- Green Solids Classic Stars quilt
Next up is this pretty blue and green solid Classic Stars quilt sample. I pulled this bundle of blue, aqua and green solids from my stash for this squared off block version. The stars are a subtle neutral fabric. The backing is a Ruby Star Society Sketchbook print.
Long Arm Quilting
I just realized I used the same pantograph for this one too..lol. Like I said, it’s one of my favorites 🙂 The Abacus pantograph is a good classic one that I have found works on lots of different designs.
This squared off version of Classic Stars is super fast to sew up. It’s bold and simple and makes quite the statement.
Colorful Solids Classic Stars Quilt
Last up is the colorful solids version of Classic Stars. For this simple star quilt I grabbed a bundle of solids from my stash.
Long Arm Quilting
This colorful Classic Stars quilt was quilted by Modern Textiles. We used her pantograph called Blender.
I hope you enjoy sewing up Classic Stars!
