Classic Hearts quilt in Ruby Star Society Basics

Today I’m sharing a Classic Hearts quilt that was sewn up in Ruby Star Society Basics. I have a few of these heart quilts that I finished last year and never got up on the blog.

Classic Hearts was last years annual heart quilt pattern. Each January I release a heart themed pattern and this one was last year. It’s a cute block based heart quilt that is fat eighth and fat quarter friendly.

The Classic Hearts quilt pattern is available in the Quilty Love pattern shop. You can check out all of the heart quilt patterns here.

Classic Hearts Quilt Pattern

Like all of the previous heart quilt patterns I tried to keep Classic Hearts nice and stash friendly. It’s a cute little heart block that is fun to sew up. You can use fat quarters, fat eighths, quarter yards or half yards for this heart quilt. And then for the hearts, you can either use the fat quarters and mix and match them or a separate yardage.

Lots of quilt sizes included:

  • Baby size quilt – 40″ x 55″
  • Small throw size quilt – 50″x65″
  • Large throw size quilt – 60″ x 75″
  • Twin size bed quilt – 70″ x 90″
  • Queen size bed quilt – 90″ x 100″

Wavy Stitch machine quilting

I quilted this one up myself using the wavy stitch on my Janome MC6700p. I have a youtube tutorial for this stitch here.

My lines are 3/4 inch spaced here. That’s my go-to usually.

This Ruby Star Society Basics Classic Hearts quilt is finished off with a Speckled White Gold backing and Speckled Daisy binding. And of course a tag. I’m really loving Sarah Hearts labels.
