Today I’m sharing another Compass Star quilt with you all! This is one of my favorite quilts to photograph! The vibrant colors of this Road Trip fabric made for the prettiest quilt.
The Compass Star quilt pattern is available in the Quilty Love shop.
Alison Glass sent over some of this gorgeous Road Trip fabric around the time I was designing this Compass Star quilt pattern. So I promptly cut into it and sewed up a throw size quilt.
This star quilt is a mix and match fat quarter quilt so this fabric bundle worked perfectly for that. I love making mix and match fat quarter quilts like this because it’s a fun way to include a lot of different fabrics. I’m convinced Compass Star will work great with just about any fat quarter bundle. Here is the original done up in solids.
Compass Star Quilt Pattern
Compass Star is a block based quilt pattern good for the beginner or the novice.
This star quilt pattern includes 5 different sizes! Make it in baby size, throw sizes, twin size, queen size or king size. Refer to the shop listing photos for fabric requirements
So far, I have made two different throw sizes. I’m itching to make up a cute little baby size quilt too.
I set this vibrant fabric on a white background so it really pops. The white is Kona cotton in the color snow.
This Road Trip Compass Star quilt is backed in a fun metallic dot fabric by Riley Blake. The metallic dots keep it exciting but toned down compared to the super bright front.
The binding on this star quilt is a simple stripe from the Road Trip fabric line. It’s called Happy Union Jack. I always love a good striped binding!
Quilting on this throw size quilt was done by Kaitlyn of Knot and Thread Design. I kept it simple and modern with this wavy quilting design. I’m pretty sure this quilting design would look good on any quilt.
