The Ruby Star Society Juicy Plus Pop quilt – new scrappy plus quilt pattern

Today I’m sharing the Ruby Star Society Juicy version of the new Plus Pop quilt. This was the first sample of Plus Pop that I sewed up. For this one I used the brand new Juicy fabric line and a dark navy speckled print for the plus signs.

Plus Pop is the latest pattern in the shop and it’s very stash friendly and fast and fun to sew together. This is a really great beginner quilt pattern since it has simple piecing and all nested seams. It’s the type of quilt top that can go together in a weekend.

The Plus Pop quilt pattern is available in the Quilty Love pattern shop.

The new Plus Pop quilt pattern

I’m super excited to release this fun and easy plus quilt pattern out into the quilty world. This one came together really quickly for me. It was inspired by my super popular Star Pop II quilt. I wanted to offer another option for that quilt so plus signs it was.

Plus quilts were one of my early favorites back when I first started quilting and I still really love them. I sketched out this pattern, had a sample within a few days and a written pattern a day after that. It was a nice and easy process so I love when that happens.

It’s super fun to sew up and it’s one of those quilts where I want to try it out with so many different fabric combos.

Fat quarter friendly quilt pattern

Plus Pop is written with your stash in mind! You can mix and match fat quarters from your stash or even use fat eighths or your scrap stash. A 10 inch layer cake square does work but it leaves a chunk of fabric from each square. You will need one 10 inch square per block.

Lots of quilt sizes included

The Plus Pop quilt pattern includes the following quilt sizes:

  • Baby size quilt – 48″ x 56″
  • Square throw size quilt – 64″ x 64″
  • Large throw size quilt – 64″ x 72″
  • Full size bed quilt – 80″ x 96″
  • Queen/ King bed size quilt – 96″ x 104″

Ruby Star Society Juicy fabric

I was excited to sew something up with the brand new Juicy fabric line by Melody Miller for Ruby Star Society. I paired this fun and playful citrus line with a dark navy speckled from my stash.

Straight line quilting on my domestic machine

This Juicy Plus Pop was quilted up on my Janome MC6700p with simple straight lines. Since this quilt came together pretty quickly I quilted all of the samples myself. I went with one inch spaced lines.
