2023 Completed Quilts by Quilty Love
Happy New Year! 2023 was a really fun year for me with lots of sewing. Even though I do this for a living I still make sure that the majority of my time is spent doing the part I love most and that is the actual sewing.
So this year I wanted to do a round up of all of the quilts I made during the past year. Especially because a lot of these haven’t made it up on the blog yet.
It turns out that I made A LOT of quilts this past year. Scroll on through to see them all!
The year started out with a few heart quilts of course! Heart Gems was released in the beginning of the year so there are a few samples for it. Technically, I finished some of these in 2022 but I’ll share them here just the same.
2023 Quilty Love quilt finishes
I think I finished this Scrappy Hearts quilt below early in the year. It doesn’t look like it ever made it up on the blog though.
This Scrappy Gems quilt also hasn’t made it up on the blog but was finished early in the year.
Here’s one last Heart Gems quilt! I made quite a few of them between samples and the Heart Gems quilt class. This one below was made using my scrap stash and then I practiced some free motion quilting on it. I’ll have to get it up on the blog soon!
The Scrappy Trip quilt below is one of my favorites makes from 2023! This quilt is actually fully finished but I haven’t photographed it or blogged it yet.
Same with this Triange Hexies quilt below! It’s all done and needs to get published on the blog.
Scrappy Gems was a new 2023 pattern release. This is a fun stash buster. I made a handful of samples for the pattern release.
This colorful Starry Scrappy Gems hasn’t made it up on the blog yet.
I didn’t actually finish this Cake Dash quilt below but I sewed up the quilt top sometime in May.
This VandCo Ombre Scrappy Gems hasn’t made it up on the blog yet either.
Same with this Scrappy Gems quilt. It’s done and needs to get blogged! I did a mix of long arm quilting with hand quilting on the one below. I actually added a little hand quilting detail to the ombre one above too.
This Fableism Triangle Hexies is one of my other favorite makes for the year. I made this one as a bed quilt for my oldest daughter. It turned out so gorgeous with the Fablesism Wovens.
I sewed up these two Classic Star quilts in the summer. The pattern was first available in the Stitch Supply Advent Calendar and then released in the shop after that. So this is the 5th new Quilty Love pattern in 2023.
This cute little Triangle Pop would be another 2023 favorite. It’s made with super soft Fableism Wovens and turned out so cute. This one hasn’t made it up on the blog yet so I need to get on that!
Here’s another quilt that I didn’t actually finish this past year. It’s still a quilt top.
This hand pieced flower quilt was a big finish in 2023! I started piecing the first flowers about 7 years ago and finally finished it this year. I had about 1/4 of the flowers pieced together so this year I finished all of the rest of the flowers, quilt top assembly (all by hand!) and then quilting. I ended up hand quilting the entire thing. This was my first attempt back into hand quilting and I quickly became obsessed. This one isn’t on the blog yet.
Log Cabin Stars was another 2023 new pattern release. I made a few samples for the pattern launch.
This Duval solids Geo Gems is all quilted up but just needs binding. So it’s almost finished!
I almost forgot I made this scrap stash Glowing quilt last year! It’s fully completed but I haven’t photographed it for the blog yet.
This rainbow scrap stash Log Cabin Stars quilt is also still a quilt top. Maybe I’ll quilt it up soon.
This hand quilted Double the Plus quilt was another favorite 2023 finish. I made this one with Fableism Sprout Wovens and hand quilted it. It’s been getting daily use this winter.
This Ghost Party quilt below was a fun make this year. I made it at a fall retreat with fabrics from Stitch Supply co. It’s all quilted up but needs binding. I probably won’t get around to it until we want to use it this next fall.
Tiled Stars II was another new pattern release for 2023. There are a few samples from the pattern launch. My favorite is this first one using Ruby Star Society Starry Fabrics.
And then this final Tiled Stars II quilt hasn’t been blogged yet. It’s made up using Fableism Forest Forage fabrics and wool batting. This was my very first time using wool batting!
This Quilty Trees quilt was a fun make at the end of the year. This one is still a quilt top.
And the last quilt to share in this blog post is the Fableism Expanding Stars Quilt. I’m currently hand sewing this one and hope to finish it up soon.
